Using CarCash to get actual money out of an old or disused vehicle in your driveway is a great way to make some extra cash without much effort. While the process of selling your car to CarCash in Tampa isn't as complicated as it is in some other places, there are still a few quirks to our state laws that you'll want to be aware of before you accept an offer from us to buy your car.

In order to sell your car, truck, or SUV to CarCash, you'll need to bring the following documents:

  • The vehicle title in your name - this proves that you are the legal owner of the vehicle, and have the legal right in the state of Florida to sell that vehicle to CarCash
  • A notarized VIN inspection and odometer reading if the vehicle is not titled in Florida - Since the Florida DMV has no prior record of the vehicle if it has never been titled here, you'll need to complete this process for any out-of-state vehicle being sold to CarCash Tampa.
  • Proof of lien release, if applicable - It is illegal to sell a vehicle with an existing lien in the state of Florida, so you will need to prove that any prior liens against the vehicle have been satisfied before we can complete the sale.

Notice of Sale

This form is unique to the state of Florida, and it is highly recommended that you fill it out whenever you sell a vehicle, whether it is to CarCash or another private entity. This form notifies the Florida DMV that you are no longer responsible for the vehicle and have transferred ownership, removing you from any liability regarding said vehicle should it be involved in an accident prior to being registered to a new owner. This form is to protect your interests above anything else, and you should have it filled out and turned into the DMV immediately after completing the sale of the vehicle to CarCash.

What if You Can't Find Your Title?

Unfortunately, there is no legal way to sell a car in Florida without a title. Should you be unable to find your title, you will have to apply for a duplicate title and submit that application to the DMV for approval.

Upon filling out this application, you'll have to visit the DMV with a Florida driver's license, or a US Passport to provide proof of identification.

If your title is an electronic title, you'll have to visit a motor vehicle service center and acquire a physical title before you visit our location.

How Does CarCash Get You Money for Your Car?

It seems like there is no easy way to get money for your old cars anymore. Online listing sites are full of scam artists and low ball offers that do nothing but waste your time and cause endless frustration that you're constantly forced to deal with until you finally find the right buyer. On the other hand, dealerships give you a quick quote and easy payday, but it will be much less than the vehicle's actual value. At CarCash, we wanted to combine the ease of the dealership selling experience with the added value of a private sale, and now Tampa drivers have a great option for getting money from your old cars.

Our process uses typical information such as year, make, model, and mileage and combines it with local market trends for retail and auction pricing to find you the best possible deal. Once your online quote has been established, simply pay us a visit and a member of our team will do a final, physical check of the vehicle to verity the online quote. At that point you'll get your money and be on your way!

Why Sell to CarCash?

At the end of the day, we're interested in purchasing your vehicle from you. There is no incentive for us to insult you with a low offer - we always want to make sure you feel good about the deal you're getting from us. We feel so confident in our offers that we back them for 14 days while you try to find a better deal.
